Gday Everyone.

I'm Rodney Odgaard, your resident surf guide on board SeaBourn Surf's Maha Bintang Mentawai Charters.

 

I have been surfing in Indonesia for 14 years with a strong focus on Mentawai for the last 4 years.

 

My mission is to make sure you get the most of our of your Mentawai expericence!

 

A little about my background:

 

I started out in Mentawai as a land feral! ... camping and living at waves such as Hts, Ebay, Macaronis and Telescopes. I met boat captains who liked my style and wave/mechanical knowledge. The end result was that boat owners offered me guide work on their charters.

 

Since then I have guided for Sumatran Surfariis, Strait Shot Sumatra Speed Boat, Lances Left Resort, Ebay Bungalows and Seloinak Resort. I finished last season at Nemberala Beach Resort Rote for Waterways Travel America.

 

I have my senior first aid ticket, am good at surfboard repair and coaching guests on triangulation and how to surf performance waves.

 

I am 6'3" fit, funny and fucken good looking!!! Lol :-)

 

My nickname is Raksasa (Giant)

 

I speak nearly fluent Indonesian, love Indonesia and am respected by the local people.
